The Aaron J Shay Experience

This song is a draft of a song for my new EP, derived from a poem I wrote.

Now, I’m not usually one to write traditional songs like this. It’s a very straight-forward lament. But that’s how it sounded in my head, and once a song I write gets into my head in a certain shape, texture and size, it’s little good to try and change it.

I started writing this piece because I had forgotten the name of someone who played a very important role in my life. I could see her face and hear her voice distinctly, but the name had completely vanished on me. I wanted to write a song to deal with the demon in my head that ate important facts and names.

But as November rolled along, events transpired that caused the song to evolve in a completely different direction.
